Habitual has announced its plan to release a line of men’s denim in January of 2012.  Finally, Habitual’s philosophy of subtle, thought-inspiring, sexy jeans will be available for men. Habitual’s traditional washes (each of which takes months to perfect) continues in the new looks, which will also feature Habitual’s signature handcrafted Maltese cross in the front pocket. Habitual has opted for a higher, more comfortable rise and plans to produce a variety of cuts including skinny, slim straight, straight, and relaxed boot fits.  Both button and zip flies will be available.  As Design Director Jennifer Wojinski describes, “It’s a very tailored and sophisticated look with a European aesthetic. Mike Hodis, founder of Rising Sun &Co. in Pasadena, California, takes workmanship seriously. Formerly the Sr. Denim Designer at Lucky (and owner of what is arguably the best mustache in America), Hodis has acquired construction techniques that are practically unheard of in the world of jean manufacture.  

Hodis is about as old school as they come, preferring to use much stronger selvage fabric and employing 80 year old sewing machines.  Using single needle tailoring, Hodis and his busy workshop of tailors turn out vintage inspired denim crafted from handmade, original patterns.  

Each pair of jeans is unique, the beautiful details painstakingly crafted one stitch at a time. Rising Sun doesn’t mind doing things the hard way in order to ensure the best possible quality for their final product.  

This is not disposable denim. Rising Sun creates the kind of tough, audacious jeans that people want, need, love, and keep.
